Female Egg Donation -Good News is Here For Childless Couples
For 21st century couples, conceiving a child is not as easy
as it sounds. There could be many causes of infertility which can hinder
the conception of a healthy baby. The miracle happens when sperm meets
egg, but women over 40 years of age cannot conceive a child because they
have embryos which do not develop properly or produce poor quality
eggs. This is where egg donation comes to rescue and is considered as a last resort for prospective parents.
When properly performed, egg donation can be an immense fulfilling
and life-enriching experience for women who have failed to conceive. All
potential recipients and donors must go through a complete screening
procedure to make sure they are right candidates for the egg donation
treatment.
As and when the recipient and donor couple has been matched, the egg donation process can commence:
Cycle Synchronization
The first step is to match the menstrual cycles of both recipient and
donor. This is to make sure that the fertilized embryo created from the
donor’s egg can be easily moved to the recipient’s uterus. Through the
successful use of medications, the coordination of the menstrual cycles
is attained.
Egg Retrieval and Fertilization
Using an ultrasound-guided transvaginal aspiration; an egg retrieval
process is completed once the donor’s eggs are prepared. And then, the
eggs will be fertilized with the sperm of the recipient’s partner which
can be easily achieved through IVF by combining the eggs with sperm and
allowing fertilization to take place on its own.
Embryo Placement
When the eggs have reached to the final destination of embryonic
development then two to three embryos will be transferred into the
uterus of the recipient. This way, it increases the likelihood of
multiple pregnancy; however it does not really increase the chances of
success.
Hopefully, the below-mentioned egg donation
process will certainly put you into the position of making a right
decision of whether you should undergo an egg donation process or not.
There is much more detail available pertaining to this and that you can
